Lila the Bird

Lila is an original character professional hand puppet that is built from scratch. She stands approximately 20 inches tall with a 36 inch wingspan. She has a black arm sleeve attached to the bottom of her body to hide the puppeteer’s arm. 

She is a fleece over foam design with a foam skull and body all covered with super soft fleece. There is no stuffing or padding in her neck for maximum comfort and movement. Her beak is layered from a gasket rubber mouth board with foam across the top for structure. The puppeteer’s thumb gives her lower beak its shape. 

She can be puppeteer by one or two puppeteers. Both wings are live hand gloves with permanently attached black arm sleeves to hide the puppeteer’s arms. They are a lovely triple color fur, lavender, pink and black, for the outer wing and lavender fleece for the inner wings. She has two fingers and a thumb for each wing. 

Approximately 2,000 purple and pink turkey feathers cover Lila’s head, neck collar and tail. A fringe of lavender ostrich feathers run the bottom edge of each wing for volume.
